The Bluebird electronic medical record for doctors was first released in 1994 and has built a loyal following. Unlike many other EMRs Bluebird was designed by doctors for doctors with the primary aim of making clinicians more efficient. The latest version is a cloud based EMR with an API that allows all practice management systems to update patient demographics.
Besides quickly creating detailed clinical notes, this Bluebird EMR also facilitates hospital pre-admission and consultation requests.

After more than a decade the familiar Bluebird Mobile application is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade for 2023. Besides the current lab result functionality, Bluebird Mobile will also enable any doctor working in a Bluebird hospital to use their smartphone (iPhone or Android) to dictate hospital consults, hospital progress notes, surgical notes and discharge summaries directly into Bluebird.
